Thread: tracklisting sites

  1. #1

    Default tracklisting sites

It would appear that mixesdb.com is on death row.
Trying hard not to lament the countless hours to populate it, I'm wondering if there is an alternative.
Where does everyone file their tracklists online?
    Thanks,
I try to help where I can, please help me in return.

I'm absolutely gutted! I'm really hoping someone / some group of people will be able to save it or resurrect it using the data/database.

There is https://www.1001tracklists.com/ but imo it's not as user friendly from a contribution point of view. Every change goes through approval and denied ones that are clearly denied incorrectly cannot be challenged. But at least it is an alternative.

There is another one but I've forgotten the url. If I remember I'll post back. EDIT: https://trackid.net/

EDIT 2: obviously there's brady's site https://sbradyman.angelfire.com/ but it's more for older mixes.

EDIT 3: this post needs moving into the General Chat forum

Thanks for the links, btw. Will take a look. You're right, though a restore/migration of the existing data somewhere else would be the best outcome.

Thanks. I knew GTW. It's strictly hardcore, though.

https://tracklistings.co.uk/ is that for UK DJs/venues only? I did a search on Jeff Mills out of curiosity, and only found sets that contain his tracks.

    Thanks,
just reading about mixesDB, that's a lot of information to disappear

    https://www.mixesdb.com/w/MixesDBhutdown

fair enough they cant update the site because it's out of date, but please leave it online as an archive, users have spent hours uploading tracklists, it's criminal to lose all that information from the internet.
let me know if you can name any

Reddit post about it closing. A member references their website http://moxser.com/ implying it could hold the same data. But I don't think it will be community maintained.

Resident Advisor also created a news entry for it. Hopefully increased reach and coverage will lead to a solution...
