I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone can help me out with a tune ID??
It is a tune from 91' I think that has the words 'It began in Africa...' in it.
DJ Welly used to play it at the Pleasuredrome
I know that Chico Secchi's 'Whip of the Rhythm' has the same lyrics, but I don't think it is the same tune.
Can anyone help????
Cheers

Hello mate, welcome aboard !!!
There's a few tunes used this sample (I think it originates from an Africa Bambaataa track). Could be Sydney Fresh "Feel The Bass" (about the right time for Welly @ Farnworth). Trouble is I think it says it only once, right at the beginning.
Does the tune kick into "ooh, ahh ahh, feel the bass come down on me..." ??

I've just checked the tape, and it says 'It began in Africa' more than once. It also has voodoo ray samples before building up to a hands in the air crescendo. Any clues???
P.S. The tape I have this on is from the last night at the pleasuredrome
Also after a few more tunes if anyone can help, both from 91/92:
1/ A top piano track that repeats the following lyrics:
All over, All over, All over the world...
(but it isn't 'Spread Love' by World Series of Love!)
2/ A wicked piano screamer , that starts with a saxophone and samples lyrics from 'Weekend' by Todd Terry. I think the words are:
Baby I'll find a friend, a friend for the weekend, what's it like my deeper love now playing hard??
