I know this is not directly helping, but your "unknown tune 1" gives a good clue about these tunes' origins, The Essential Mix on BBC Radio One.

With quick searches I was able to find the websites, with tracklist archives up to about 2002. Maybe you could try to have them send you to the tracklist for previous mixes (ot at least try to know who was the DJ back then, so you can trace him back and have him ID the tunes for you).
