Has anyone even heard that piano track anywhere else before (ID1) - it's so distinctive but I never heard it anywhere else. Come on people dig deep for me - phone your friends, ask your audience - someone must know. Anyone got Sasha's email address??? He probably wont know either :)

are you refering to the british classics with a Danny Rampling, Sasha and 2 other djs in a 4 x cassette card box or the specific Sasha British Classics ones with 4 Sasha mixes (although 2 were done by Vertigo)

Hey Dodgymix - nice one for that but, alas, it's not that one (or those ones). The tape I used to have was one tape only (of course it could have come from a set) and all it said on it was 'Sasha - British Classics' that's all I know.

However, I have been digging and the same mix seems to be known as 'DJ Vertigo - Up Up Away and Gone' and also 'Sasha @ Love for Life 93' although I have seen some tracklistings for a mix with the the latter name and it doesn't match mine.

Interestingly some of the tracks on my tape are on the list you provided so I will now cruise through them to see if any others match - worth a shot.

I wrote to Sasha's management last night - was quick to emphasize I am not a stalker - but also that there are a lot of proper fans from the good ol days who really want these tracks so let's see if we are valued or not - I go back to the old Shelly's days with Sasha on the decks so I reckon he should show willing :)

The piano tune is bugging me the most - been listening to it for 17 years now and no clue what it is - quite annoying.

that dub mix will turn up eventually, it will probably be a b side of a famous artist.

I canty believe all the hype of the tune on Sasha Universe, after years of debate someone pulled out a oldmixmag from the time with a weak description of the said track saying it was a verylimited white

I just spotted that the background piano riff on ID1 is the same as the piano on 'I'm The King' by Oz.

That track was released in '95 so it is later than the one I am looking for, but does it help anyone? Clutching at straws I know, but thought I would mention it.

It was me who sent you the listing updates to your site about a month back :D

So yes that's the mix - is it Sasha then or Vertigo or someone else?

I will soon be able to give you the name of the mix on the Natural Progression EP (I think that is a Steve Proctor track) I've broken my deck so haven't played it yet. Likewise on the Quest track.

I just bought a piece of vinyl called 'The Funky Sensation EP' because I heard a track (no idea where now annoyingly) called 'I'm the King' by Oz which had the self same piano in the mix as our unknown piano instrumental from side A of this Sasha/Vertigo tape (I love that tune) - but it was released in 95 after this mix was made. Anyway Billy Osbourne (AKA Oz) was part of Music and Mystery who released 'The Funky Sensation EP' in 1993 so you never know maybe the piano on 'I'm the King' was taken from his 93 production (you following this!? :crazy:) - I will be so happy if it turns up with that tune on it - odds are stacked against but it's the only lead I have right now.

Unless of course anyone out there knows different????????
