*** SOLVED ***
It's Kleptomania - Amadeus / Morf (http://www.discogs.com/Kleptomania-Amadeus-Morf/release/378585)

***

Oldskool Hardcore from 1991-'93, most likely 1992.

The song is based around a sample from Mozart's 'The Marriage of Figaro'. The sample is a melody, not just strings/pads, and the song breaks down to this sample.

Here is a YouTube link, the sample starts at 0:55, ends at 1:10 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OZCyp-LcGw)

I also attached the sample to the post.

I heard this song on a mixtape so there was no tracklist. I do remember some vocals, BUT they could've been from the next song being mixed in. The vocals are sampled from Gwen Guthrie, same as used by N-Joi in their 'Anthem'.

'I'm in love with you
Want you to love me too'

YouTube link to the Gwen Guthrie original (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib5v40mAw78), the vocals start at 0:32.

Again, I'm not sure if the vocals are in the song I'm looking for, or whether it was mixed in, but they were pitched up a lot from the original.

I've had the name 'Kleptomania' stuck in my head for years, don't know why, but I've never found anything related to that name that sounds anything close to what I'm describing above. I've tried 'Clepto-Maniacs' and a lot of versions of the name, but to no avail.

Any ideas, my friends?

THANK YOU!

YES!!!

Okay, the sad part is that I've been searching for Kleptomania and "stingi wingi" for years, which never gave me any results...

...and the damn thing is called "sTringi wingi"...gawd!

Yes yes yes!

It's weird to hear that tune after all those years, and it's just as good as I remembered. And it IS expensive, guess I'll let the YouTube version do for now...

Thanks again!
