Is this from Pollen in Manchester? In which case it may be me DJing? Am pretty sure i was the only one playing these types of tunes there. Certainly isnt Spaceman or Crispin anyways.

Hey Coma Project - Hello there!! And, yay, I can hardly believe it!!! I knew if I kept my persistence up I'd get lucky! :)

It is Pollen from Manchester and I was a lowly 1st year when this tape came out! My god, those were some good parties!

I'm very privileged to meet you Mr. Coma Project!! I've been searching for all these choons for about 14 years now so I have to say you've made my day!!

The original mixes in their muffled form are on my website, where the clips were (under Trainspotting). My site does work, I'm sure cos I've accessed it myself but I will definitely put the clips on using the attach function asap...

Well I only played a few times with the Pollen lot… but knew them all well.

Anyway, I had another listen but cant ID any more I'm afraid... although they all sound very familiar. Track "Pollen Side 2 - Track 11" is a stonker!

I've emailed Spaceman your link though, so hopefully he can id some for you. Unfortunately I'm not in touch with Crispin anymore, which is a shame cause after listening to the full tape i now think its his set. Last time I saw him he was on MTV interviewing some Baywatch babes in a hot tub!!! (he became an MTV presenter with Davina Maccall for a short while).

Anyway, I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything.

I remember Crispin and also remember him doing a stint on MTV! They had some pretty warped ideas when Pollen got really going - I remember finding myself backstage blinded by strobes and a dancing dinosaur burst from a huge birthday cake!! Then there were the STD's in full-costume... oh, those were the days....

I have already ordered Doi-Oing - Good feeling, not knowing if the correct mix was on there but I think you have confirmed it there, so well chuffed about that!!

Hey Coma Project,

yes! JT Company - Wet arrived through the post yesterday (despite the snow!!) - and it is the Joe T. Vanelli mix which is the one I needed!! :D

I really am so close now to completing the whole thing. Any idea at all on Side 1 - Track 1, Track 9, Track 10???? I have given up hope on getting the final track as that sample is so short.

I've found 2 records with the same "Be with you" sample (for track 9), but neither are the right one. That's such a good tune I'm sure someone can help :wave:

Hey, if anyone wants to listen to the Pollen tape - side 2 without the hisses and crackles of poor quality 14 year old tape quality, I have re-mixed it!!! :D About 98% there but need to work on my scratching to complete it properly!

Right, yes, the mix must be Crispin's surely. There was another guy I knew too, called Austin, who could also lay claim, maybe?? But this was THE pollen tape, bought in Taylor's newsagents over the road from Owen's park - so whoever mixed that is the culprit of my neverending search!

I will check out facebook and see if you're there! :-)

PLEASE THOUGH PEOPLE, take a listen at tracks 1, 9 and 10 on Side 1 - the samples are still a few threads above.

And, if any peeps would like to hear this mix (well side 2 at least), cos it is super super fab, then look for my links above for my re-mixed and smooth (non-tape hissy crap) version!
