Easy now. Just signed up to TuneID as I'm in the process of trying to track down all the tunes I used to, and still do, love - I'm seriously impressed with the level of knowledge on display here so I'm hoping that there'll be a few ideas as to this:
I had a (I think) Grooverider tape with a brilliant tune on it that's stuck in my mind for years but I've no idea what is is/who it's by - unfortunately the tape died long ago due to to much rinsing! It's a bugger to describe as there's no lyrics as such - just a sample of a woman singing played backwards over a typical early hardcore breakbeat and bassline, and also a sort of 'holler' sample - it's got a really feelgood vibe to it. My best approximation of what the backwards singing sample sounds like is 'aahmsi, aahmsi love meh wi' (gibberish I know!).
It'll be early nineties, and while I'm not positive it was a Grooverider tape it was on, it's definitely the sort of thing he played back then. I appreciate this is not much to go on, but if anyone knows of any tunes with backwards singing samples please let me know - it might just be the one!
Cheers all, and I look forward to being able to help out myself in time!
