"groovy beat" by DOP or HOP isn't it... I have this at home and the name is on the tip of my tongue... I'll find out for you when I get home if no one else ID's this in the meantime.

It could be one of two tunes:
Convert - Rockin to the Rhthym (Game of sax version) - AM:PM
Convert (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Convert.mp3)
and second part (only got a 1 minute editor)
Convert Part 2 (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Convert1.mp3)
or
D.O.P Groovy Beat - Guerilla (GRRR23)
DOP (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/DOP.mp3)
and second part
DOP Part 2 (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/DOP1.mp3)
Hope this helps.

There was a 96ish re-release of the DOP - Groovy Beat track with some extra mixes on it... Same label that re-released things like renegade master... I think one of the them was the Human Off Planet Mix which was rather good.
Its been a while but the track your after is on old Sasha tape from the G-Spot, the one with him scratchin' Bump - I'm Rushin. I'll have to have listen cause I can't remember whether it was the Convert or DOP version :-)
If you know let me know :-)

I don't think its nightbird... but its probably 'Rockin to the Rhythm' by Convert.. you can pick up a copy on gemm for $3.95.
http://www2.gemm.com/c/search.pl?sid=300968923&key=18421&disp_ad_format_mode=0&artist=CONVERT&artist=CONVERT&&title=ROCKIN+TO+THE+RHYTHM&artist=CONVERT&
and you can get the D.O.P version on CD
http://www6.gemm.com/c/search.pl?sid=300968923&key=18421&field=ARTIST&wild=D.O.P.
I'm 80% sure that it was the DOP track he's playing. But I have a habit of getting things messed up so I think you should get a second opinion :-)

Why don't you compare the samples that spirit_of_space posted and see which sounds the closest?
Personally... I'd buy both... both versions are wicked :) :)

It's either............
DOP - ROCKIN' TO THE RHYTHM (Guerilla)
or...
CONVERT - ROCKIN' TO THE RHYTHM (Belgian Big Time Records)
or...
CONVERT - ROCKIN' TO THE RHYTHM (Remixes)
*I sure 'Convert' came out in the U.K on 'AMPM Records'
**As 4 'CONVERT - NIGHTBIRD', that came out b4 'CONVERT - ROCKIN' TO THE RHYTHM', but still a rockin tune!!:rotate:
***I would be left to believe that Sasha cained DOP's version of 'Rockin' to the rhythm', but I still could be wrong, coz both tunes are up Sasha's street!:rotate:
****If the tune youre after has a Saxophone tootin away all the way thru the tune with a bit of a piano and a guy chanting, 'ROCKIN TO THE RHYTHM OF A GROOVY BEAT!' Then youre after the Convert tune:spin: :spin: :spin:

i've got a sasha tape where he mixes Gat Decor Passion into DOP. On the other side is Inner City. So its a long shot but here are the tunes before and after (has the vocals you stated) Inner City, they might help....
Sasha before Inner City (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Sasha01.mp3)
Sasha after Inner City (http://www.classictunes.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Sasha02.mp3)

;) thanks to spirt_of_space for the samples. the 1 before inner city is the 1 ive wanted iding aswell, but the 1 after isn't i havent got the tape n e more so i carn't go listen to it and carn't remember the proper order of the tunes. is the 1 before have a women singing in it at the begining can only remember a little the vocals go something like this: 'i put the locks on the windows too,, hey baby never gonna make it through,, hey baby im giving up, gonna make it through. the sample you gave me doesn't so i could be on aboput two totaly different tunes.
hope some1 can id these.
cheers to all
