Picked up this white label (Cat. XXX) and it is a rougher version of the Dave Angel Nightmare Mix of Sweet Dreams.

Just wondering if anyone knows the story behind this 12"? Was it written by Dave Angel and released before he got sample clearance?

Any help appreciated.

You're pretty much on the ball- this was Dave Angels original release of this - it was then picked up and he re-did the mix in the studio with Dave Stewart from Eurythmics for the commercial release phones:
